Fish Habitat

Productive fisheries can often be created using non-conventional water resources such as Irrigation return flows, subsurface leakage from irrigation ditches, and historic ditches used to drain agricultural properties. Kingfisher Consulting will design and construct a stream fishery that includes all of the components of a fully functioning natural stream system. This system will include habitat for primary production and macroinvertebrate food sources, along with the full range of fish habitat from spawning and rearing for young fish to complex cover elements for mature fish populations.
