Permit Acquisition The acquisition of state and federal permits is one of the more complex aspects of wetland or river restoration and enhancement projects. At a minimum, for example, a wetland restoration project may require involvement of The Army Corps of Engineers (impacts to wetlands), The Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks (fisheries impacts to adjacent water bodies), The Natural Resources and Conservation Service (impacts to stream channel bed and banks), The Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (water rights), and the Department of Environmental Quality (short term exemptions from water quality standards for construction activities). Throughout the years, Kingfisher personnel have submitted innumerable permits to the many agencies having authority over our projects in the United States and Canada. Our experience with state and federal agencies has given us a comprehensive understanding of the regulations and procedures affecting these projects, and has helped us foster strong relationships with personnel from local, state, and district level offices.
