Wetland Systems Restoration

Many wetlands, which once provided valuable habitat for waterfowl and other wildlife, have been reduced or eliminated through draining, development, changes in irrigation practices, or through the elimination of beavers from the system. Kingfisher Consulting will identify the margins of historic wetlands, identify the ground and surface water on which they were dependent, and will restore the dynamic interactions between the two. Our projects result in wetlands that are tailored to the geographic area in which they are constructed, and which incorporate all necessary habitat elements to attract wetland dependent species.
