Spring Creek Restoration Spring Creek Restoration in SW Montana A formerly productive spring creek, which had been significantly altered due to the effects of road building and land managment, was reconstructed to restore rainbow and brown trout spawning habitat on this tributary to the Beaverhead River in southwest Montana. Design elements included the reintroduction of appropriate channel geometry and pool spacing, enhancment of spawning habitat, and the improvement of sediment transport dynamics through the project reach. The project was sponsored by the Beaverhead County Community Forum and the Beaverhead River Recreation Advisory Committee, with funding from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.
