Creation of a Waterfowl Habitat Crane Meadow Wetland, Near Twin Bridges, Montana. Kingfisher Consulting teamed up with Ducks Unlimited to create this 40-acre wetland for the purpose of attracting and holding resident and migratory waterfowl. Two drain ditches immediately upslope of the site had eliminated groundwater supply to this low-lying meadow. The re-routing of these water resources, in combination with the construction of low, earthen berms created has created the largest single hemi-marsh wetland in the Ruby River Valley. Eighty acres adjacent to the wetland are managed as nesting cover and forage production, which significantly increases waterfowl use of the wetland.
